Pro Pet Tips By Dr. Frontenac DVM

One thing I come across as a veterinarian; all too often, are owners who have not even researched the animal or breed of animal.

I find they feed them the wrong things, and expect the wrong behavior traits. Then when you point this out they get defensive. Not doing your research doesn’t make you a bad owner, but it does make an idiot.

Men research the cars and motorbikes before they buy them to make sure they are compatible, but find out what your pet squirrel eats… nah, lets wing it.

Why do we put care into the designer shoes we choose but not the designer dog?

What is the point in arguing with your veterinarian when they tell you chocolate is bad for dogs, or don’t feed your squirrel pasta? Chances are we have cleaned up chocolate vomit and put an IV into a dog to save his life because he was poisoned.

If you are not sure what your animal is supposed to eat or what his care needs are. Either use Google, or ask your local veterinarian.
